Omurbek Jamalov, a graduate of Karakol High School named after H. Karasaev, won a bronze medal at the 31st World Olympiad in Informatics in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Earlier, Omurbek took first place in the Republic Olympiad in computer science and secured top rankings in world competitions. He won a bronze medal in the 10th grade at the International Zhautykov Olympiad in Kazakhstan, a silver medal in the 11th grade, a bronze medal in Russia, a silver medal in the Eurasian School Olympiad and successfully took part in the World Olympiad in Japan.
